A czech Republic striker and Rangers defender are both on trial with the Bluebirds and are expected to feature in tonight’s friendly against cash-strapped Merthyr Tydfil.
Former Czech U21 player Daniel Kolar, formerly of Sparta Prague is a striker who has also played in midfield while left back Steven Smith is cureently with Glasgow Rangers but has struggled with injuries and has been allowed to join up with the Bluebirds on a trial basis.
Both players will get a run-out in tonight’s friendly, arranged to aid the Martyrs in their fight to stave off administration. Merthyr have been dogged by off-field problems despite enjoying a reasonable time on the field.
