Cardiff City are facing somewhat of an injury crisis for tomorrows game with Hull City (full team news to follow later).
Kevin McNaughton will be forced to play at centre-back with Gilbert or Ledley accompanying Gunter as the fullbacks.
What Cardiff have lacked in recent months is a cutting edge and ability to create chances and break down defences. For this reason I would like to see the addition of youngster Darcy Blake into central midfield. His passing is excellent and he could provide the creative spark McPhail has not provided of late.
A midfield consisting of those two could be lightweight so the tanascious bite of Willo Flood could be retained, and I would recall Paul Parry to the left in place of the ineffectual Peter Whittingham who seems to be content to wait for the season’s end already.
With Chopra absent, a case could be made for a 4-5-1 formation with Thompson bringing midfielders into the game – not going to happen.
