Cardiff City are focussing on adding a goalkeeper to their squad as a matter of urgency.

Following the departure of Neil Alexander, the Bluebirds have only David Forde as an established keeper on their books. Dimitrios Konstantopolous, the Greek stopper, was linked heavily recently but has now completed a move to rivals Coventry City.

Cardiff moved quickly to snap us Tony Capaldi from Plymouth Argyle and have now turned their attentions to securing a quality goalkeeper as confirmed by Chairman Peter Ridsdale:

“We will now focus our intentions on bringing in a goalkeeper and we have three or four targeted,”

“The process is well under way and it goes without saying we are looking to bring in quality.”

Mart Poom (Arsenal), Thomas Sorensen (Aston Villa), Danny Coyne (Burnley) have all been linked although Peter Ridsdale had hinted that he was in contact with a Premiership keeper.

A central midfielder, right winger and striker are all being targetted and it now looks as though The Bluebirds have missed out on Chris Killen who u-turned at the 11th hour and joined The Buoys of Celtic.
