Cardiff City’s 22 goal forward Michael Chopra has been selected by his peers in the PFA Championship Team Of The Season.

Chopra picked up the accolade after being voted one of the players of the season, although the young hitman has missed his chance of picking up the golden boot award for the Championship.

After leading the scoring charts for much of the season, a lean patch has seen Colchester’s Jamie Cureton usurp the marksman and Chopra’s petulent sending off after the whistle against QPR sees him sit out the remaining 2 games preventing his from adding to his impressive first season tally.

No other Cardiff City player made the list, after a calamitous failure from Christmas onwards saw the Bluebirds in freefall down the table and they now look set to finish in mid-table obscurity.

Welshman Gareth Bale, and former Cardiff loan star Jason Koumas both made the team.

The full PFA team was as follows:

Matt Murray (Wolves), Graham Alexander (Preston), Gareth Bale (Southampton) Darren Moore (Derby), Curtis Davies, Jason Koumas (both West Brom), Carlos Edwards, Dean Whitehead (both Sunderland), Diomansy Kamara (West Brom), Michael Chopra (Cardiff), Gary McSheffrey (Birmingham).
