Cardiff City are reportedly interested in securing the services of Plymouth Argyle stalwart Tony Capaldi.

The Northern Ireland International is out of contract in the summer, and negotiations over a new contract stalled meaning the player is available to leave Home Park on a free transfer.

Primarily a left sided midfielder, Capaldi has also played a great deal of football at left-back. This is the more likely position for Capaldi if he were to make the switch to Ninian Park with Dave Jones keen on adding a left-back to his squad and intent on keeping Peter Whittingham and Joe Ledley at the club next season.

The 25 year old has been with Plymouth Argyle for 5 years, but boss Ian Holloway has conceded defeat in his attempt to keep the player.

However Wolverhampton Wanderers, Norwich City, Crystal Palace and Roy Keane’s Sunderland are all also showing an interest in securing Capaldi’s signiture.
