After an up-and-down season, Cardiff City finished comfortably mid-table. A scintillating start was followed by a dismal end and the same players looked half as effective as previously.

VitalCardiff brings you an end of season review of each player. If you disagree then feel free to leave a comment at the foot of this article or e-mail Vital Bluebirds with an alternative review!!

The reviews will be published every weekday between 10-11am:

36 Matt Green

The 20 year old arrived at Ninian Park from the slightly less glamorous club of Newport Count and immediately filled the role of ‘talented youngster`. So far, the adjectives applied have all focussed on either pace or potential.

The leggy striker has the speed to cause problems and made a hanful of substitutes appearances last season, mostly in the final 10 minutes in which he did cause defences to worry. Although he has not yet scored, Green has had a couple of chances most notably in the 2-1 defeat (home) to Sheffield Wednesday when a low shot and header both tested the Keeper and went close.

There are likely to be few first team chances again for Matt, but he can impress in the reserves league and Carling Cup to stake his claim for a place on the bench. He has shown promise and will look to build on that.

Interviews with the player have shown him to be grounded and have good professionalism and attitude.
