After an up-and-down season, Cardiff City finished comfortably mid-table. A scintillating start was followed by a dismal end and the same players looked half as effective as previously.

16 JOE LEDLEY
Ledley was the only member of the Cardiff side to play in every single league game this season, a fantastic achievement. His performances have been of a high standard and as a midfielder he has done well to avoid injuries and suspensions over the season.
Ledley started the season in midfield and gained plaudits from many quarters during Cardiff`s impressive start. He quickly moved to the top of the Actim charts and stayed in the top 5 midfielders for much of the season.
With the arrival of Peter Whittingham in January, Ledley switched to a more unfamiliar role of left back. He did a good job there despite one or two lapses and provided good distribution from the back as well as a useful attacking outlet.
Late in the season, Ledley switched to central midfield and outshone the more experienced Stephen McPhail who looked ineffectual next to Ledley`s energetic performances. His versatility is a massive asset for Dave Jones and he has performed admirably in every position.
Although Joe went through some poor spells, he never looked out of place and is a hugely important member of the side. He improved in several areas this season and towards the end of the season looked more likely to beat his man and showed an increased happiness to run with the ball.
The goal count is still low from Ledley and he would hope to pick up a couple of strikes from the edge of the box next season. His maturity is impressive from a 21 year old and he is still improving. Birmingham City tabled a bid for the player but were rejected but Ledley can expect to play in the Premiership in the not too distant future.
