It’s being reported in the press tonight that Cardiff City have already secured the pre contract signing of January target Javi Guerra.

We reportedly made a £3million bid for the player during the New Year transfer window but the deal couldn’t be got over the line quick enough to go through before the deadline shut.

Therefore, with the 31 year old Real Valladolid striker out of contract in the summer, we have simply continued our chats with him and agreed to sign him on a pre contract basis as allowed for under the rules and will instead add the Spaniard to our ranks in the summer as a free agent.

Wales Online confirmed that neither Cardiff or Valladolid have announced the deal yet, but they claim sources close to the former Espanyol, Levante, Valencia and Real Mallorca forward are suggesting he has agreed to a three year contract.

He’s scored a goal every two games apparently this season, and his totals at Valladolid stand at 65 goals in 127 appearances.

Got a good record in Spain.I’d heard it was £5m but £3m or £5m if we get him for free this summer it’s money saved.
