Cardiff City defender Kevin McNAughton has revealed the frustration of the squad after three consecutive defeats saw the Bluebirds lose touch with the play-off pack and slip to a dissappointing 10th place in the Championship:

‘The lads and the manager are well hacked off because we have lost the sparkle we had at the start of the season.’

McNaughton was speaking after the dressing room ‘clear-the-air’ talks which occurs after the loss at Burnley where several accusations were thrown accusing certain players of lacking commitment and motivation.

Roger Johnson was another that spoke out over the incident and revealed the tense atmosphere following the defeat.

McNaughton has shone following his free transfer from Aberdeen and has become an integral and consistent player in Cardiffs starting XI. The Scottish International remains focussed on the final 4 games of the season and is determined not to go out on a low.

‘We now need to pick ourselves up and get going again.’

There is definately some disagreement amongst the Cardiff squad, hopefully the meeting will have gone some way towards clearing the air and we can end what has been a progressive season on somewhat of a high.
