Cardiff City’s on-loan goalkeeper Ross Turnbull could be re-called to his parent club Middlesborough after their growing injury list looks likely to add Brad Jones.

KeeThe Australian keeper limped out of a Boro reserves (3-1 win) game against Everton.

Jones is due to be assessed today, but early indications are that he may have suffered a tear to the hamstring and be set for a spell on the sidelines.

That leaves Gareth Southgate without cover for Mark Schwartzer as number 1. Boro do have an untried teenager Jason Steele to call upon, but re-calling Turnbull could be another option.

As Turnbull in a long term loan player, the terms of his loan would need to include a re-call clause although it is unclear as yet whether Boro are able to call him back.

Turnbull has lost his Cardiff City place after a string of un-inspired performances, his shirt going to Michael Oakes while David Forde has now returned from loan at Luton Town.
