Cardiff City manager Dave Jones was pleased with the scoreline and points if not the performance and lauded the clinical finishing of his Bluebirds after a 4-1 win over Derby County. Jones told BBC Sport:

‘I don’t think we have played as well as we are capable of. We had to get the three points tonight.’

‘It doesn’t really matter whether it’s a great performance or a poor performance, it was the result at the end of the day.’

‘We were clinical in front of goal.’

Derby County manager Nigel Clough was fuming at his defenders, immediately hauling off Martin Albrechtsen after our thirs goal. He raged:

‘We lost 4-1 because their two central defenders were outstanding and ours weren’t. I’m not blaming all of our defenders.’

‘I had no problem with our full-backs. Do you want me to make it any plainer?’
