Cardiff City could be facing another sleection headache this evening, but not for a good reason as both centre-backs who started the 2-2 draw at Hull City are struggling to be fit for tonight’s visit of Charlton Athletic.

We are strong in the centre back position with Johnson, Purse and Loovens all good shouts for a starting place. Glenn Loovens missed the last game through suspension but is available for the Addicks clash tonight.

However, Roger Johnson has a rib problem despite scoring the dramatic last gasp equaliser while captain and fellow centre-half Darren Purse looks to have picked up yet another hamstring worry.

Dave Jones will desperately hoping one of the two recovers in time and is fit to start. If not, the place will surely go to versatile Scottish defender Kevin McNaughton. Although not the right build for a centre-back, he has deputised ably before and may be asked to do so again in the latest defensive crisis.
