After missing out on top transfer target Rowan Vine and Kiwi frontman Chris Killen, Cardiff City are currently considering a bid for Brann Bergen striker Robbie Winters.

The former Dundee striker has been told he can leave the Norwegian Club along with midfielder Charlie Miller. Miller joined up with City last month for a trial with the Bluebirds but Jones and Terry Burton decided against offering him a permanent deal.

At 32, Robbie Winters is not the lively, energetic goalscorer Cardiff have been searching for but they are looking for two strikers if possible and are desperate to land someone soon to boost their meagre firepower after failing to score in the past 4 games.

Cardiff face stiff competition for the man who once cost Aberdeen £700,000 with Ipswich and Sheffield Wednesday linked implying he could add something to the squad. Winters is currently on trial with Oldham FC who are likely to offer him a deal.
