Cardiff City midfielder Solomon Taiwo has agreed a move back to Dagenham & Redbridge, a year after joining the Bluebirds in a £250k deal. The deal runs until the end of the season.

The central midfielder has endured a torrid time since moving to Cardiff City, he has barely featured and struggled badly for form. He has made several appearances from the substitutes bench, including one disasterous cameo away at Swansea City where he misplaced numerous passes and failed to make any impression.

Following a prolonged period out of the first team picture, Taiwo also suffered a knee injury and only returned to full fitness over the summer. The Bluebirds tried to setup a loan move to Colchester United, but the move fell through. He was due to seal a move to Norwich City over the summer – but after failing a fitness test he returned to Cardiff City.

Taiwo remains a Cardiff City player, but looks to have no future with the Bluebirds. A loan move suits all parties, and is by far preferable to the player remaining in the squad but not playing – especially since we have no reserve team.

Hopefully he can regain fitness, form and gain some much needed confidence.
