Cardiff City’s hotshot striker Ross McCormack is sure he made the right decision over the summer when he rejected an offer to talk to Birmingham City and instead signed for the Bluebirds.

McCormack’s attitude was equally impressive given the tendency of many to choose their club based on financial rather than footballing reasons. Birmingham City could have blown any CCFC wage deal out of the water with their financial might and parachute payments. However, Rosco’s mind was made up. He told the SW Echo:

‘My mind was already made up to join Cardiff City. I knew that was the right decision at the time – and now I`m even more certain.’

‘Birmingham may be just above us in the table, but would I have played as many games for them? Would I have scored as many goals? Probably not.’

‘I`m happy with Cardiff City and we are pushing hard for promotion. We want the play-offs or better.’

Cardiff City’s new winger Chris Burke was also courted by Birmingham City as is long time target Kris Boyd. The other side of the coin saw Marcus Bent cancel a Bluebirds medical and sign for Birmingham City. The former Everton man has been largely unplayed and ineffective for the Blues. McCormack has impressed many and despite two injuries has racked up a staggering 13 goals in 17 appearances.
