Cardiff City face the prospect of stopping on-loan Everton ace Yakubu tonight with the Nigerian forward already making waves in the Championship following a loan move to Leicester City.

The Yak has 4 goals in 6 appearances for the Foxes, including back-to-back goals in the last two games against Derby County and Bristol City.

Cardiff City look certain to partner Dekel Keinan and Mark Hudson for the fourth successive game in defence and former Charlton man Hudson knows that Yakubu will be a threat telling the Mirror:

“I have played against Yakubu before when he was at Portsmouth. He`s a big handful but he`s not the only one to look out for. Andy King seems to be scoring in this league week in, week out and he is someone to watch.”

“It will be a tough game and they have done well since Sven came in. But if we are to get promoted and be in the top two at the end of the season we have to win games like this.”

Hudosn has been in excellent form this year after an indifferent debut season with the Bluebirds. Despite playing with numerous defensive partners (Gyepes, Blake, Keinan, McNaughton) – Hudson has been consistent and very solid at the heart of a Bluebirds defence which has been disaapointing as a whole.

With the likes of Martyn Waghorn, Steve Howard and the dangerous Andy King – Liecester City have plenty of potent goal threat apart from Yakubu. Darius Vassel has yet to excel but is gaining match fitness and only needs a sniff of opportunity. It will be down to Hudson and co. to deny those opportunites and provide a platform for our own attacking force to prosper.
