Cardiff City have been handed a welcome boost with the news that Kelvin Etuhu’s injury is not as serious as thought and he is back and available for selection.

Etuhu has not long recovered from ankle ligament damage, and was ruled out for several months. He picked up a problem during the 1-0 win at Boro and could barely move as he hobbled around whilst we arranged the substitution. However, fears over a recurrance have been allayed and he has not ruptured ligaments.

Cardiff City boss Dave Jones told the SW Echo:

“Kelvin`s injury is not as bad as we first feared. It`s just a matter of the swelling going down.”

“We`ll take a look at it but we hope he will take part in training and could be available for us.”

Etuhu has had few opportunities to shine since joining from Manchester City in the summer. The previous injury problem kept him out for some time, whilst the impressive form of our strikers and Peter Whittingham have limited Etuhu’s role to the bench. However, he has looked energetic and lively at times and may have a part to play in the second half of the season, especially with the lack of current options on the Bluebirds bench.
