Cardiff City have a massive injury crisis given the amount of unavailable players coupled with an already undersized squad.

Sunday’s clash with Leicester City saw no less than 4 players injured, whil McNaughton and Naylor were both doubts afterwards.

Craig Conway (ankle), Mark Hudson (ankle), Earnshaw (thigh) and Rudy Gestede (hamstring) are all out – leaving the Bluebirds desperately short of attacking threat. Joe Mason looks certain to replace Conway, though will likely occupt a more central and advanced role.

Lee Naylor too is struggling with a calf complaint meaning a likely appearance for Darcy Blake. Dekel Keinan and Stephen McPhail will also miss the game meaning City are very light on cover from the bench.

By absolute contrast, table-toppers Southampton have a clean bill of health with the likes of Dan Harding, Radhi Jaidi and Lee Barnard all back in contention after injuries.

Defender Frazer Richardson (calf)recently returned from his own absence while Richard Chaplow (tendinitis) and Steve de Ridder (foot) are both also back in contention.

The Saints will be without centre-half Dan Seaborne as he recovers from head injuries suffered in a nightclub assault recently.
