Cardiff City notched a creditable draw against Leicester City on Sunday, especially given the injury problems that saw Mackay make three changes and see Rudy Gestede barely mobile for the final fifteen minutes.

However, whilst a point gained and an extension to the unbeaten run that now stretches 7 games, that was in fact the sixth time the scores have remained level after 90 minutes in the last 7 games.

We do sit in the last play-off position, a satisfactory start after the close season turmoil, however, a return of 7 points from 5 unbeaten games is far from ideal. The only victory being a 2-0 home win over Doncaster Rovers. Stalemates with Blackpool, Leicester City, Burnley and Portsmouth.

In truth, another draw on Wednesday night would have to be seen as a good point with visitors Southampton currently top-of-the-table and an already small Cardiff City squad likely to be without Taylor, Earnshaw, Gestede and Hudson. That would make it 7 draws from 8 and not the perfect entertainment for the Bluebirds supporters. To go one better and secure a win would be excellent.
