Cardiff City Transfer Kitty Issues

A recent poll on this Vital Cardiff City site invited readers to ‘guess’:

How Much Money Is Available for Transfers?

With the recent lack of activity in the transfer market, and the well documented lack of funds it has seemed Cardiff are unable to compete financially with their rivals.

However, a good financial year, along with the sale of Cameron Jerome has seen a financial upturn and a bid of £1m for Rowan Vine (who eventually moved to Birmingham from Luton Town) saw hoes raised of a decent transfer kitty for the summer.

However, only Tony Capaldi (free transfer) has moved in and the majority of links to the club have also been players out of contract. So is Dave Jones biding his time and refusing to pay over-inflated prices? Or have we got no money and needing to scrounge out-of-contract players?

The votes were spread, mostly between the two ends of the scale:

40% believed there to be literally no money available, while another 40% thought that DJ has over a million stashed away for the right players.

14% thought that somehwere in the region of £500k-950k was most likely with the remainder thinking a very small kitty was there.

So the majority (54%) think we have upwards of £500k to spend, but a hefty 40% think there are no funds whatsoever. Only time will tell, and its best that other clubs don’t know our finances but we need to see players coming in whether free transfers of not !!!
£1m+ 40%
