Cardiff City are being linked with a summer move for Brighton and Hove Albion striker Glenn Murray and could land the striker for a cut-price with the Seagulls faced with relegation from Coca-Cola League 1.

Bluebirds scouts are thought to have watched the 25 year old, who started his career in the USA, on several occasions and been impressed with him.

Murray was a £300k capture for Brighton last January following a move from Rochdale. He has not stayed at one club for very long at any point of his career but has netted 40 goals in 80 games for Rochdale and current club Brighton.

At this point, the interest is purely speculation. We have watched Whelan, and that’s it. Any move would be entirely dependent on our division next season and the availability of other players.
