Cardiff City recorded a 2-0 victory over an off colour Leicester City side to return to winning ways. It was a determined performance for the Bluebirds and in a game of few chances, we were clinical and ran out deserved winners.

The game was largely even with both sides disciplined but conservation until the Foxes switched off and allowed Seyi Olofinjana to break clear on the right, his cut-back found the lively MICHAEL CHOPRA to finish low from 12 yards.

Leicester were largely resricted to long range efforts, but Gallagher’s effort flew just wide in the first half before the Foxes nearly made a brilliant start to the second only for Heaton’s fingertips to deny Wellens’ good low drive.

Shortly afterwards, a flowing move found the marauding Kevin McNaughton free on the left, he pulled back perfectly for the onrushing AARON RAMSEY to steer home the decisive second.

Cardiff City saw the game out in determined fashion, with Quinn and Hudson impressive. Dave Jones too deserved great credit for shuffling his pack effectively to nullify the Leicester threat. Emmanuel-Thomas, Burke and Parkin all had chances to increase the margin, while Leicester City were unable to take their intricate midfield play into the final third.

A crucial win for Cardiff City, over the form team of the division. Sven’s men failed to hit top gear, at least partly due to the work-rate and passion of the Bluebirds. There wasn’t a lot in the game, but it was Cardiff City who got the all important opener and had the quality to see the game out.
