Cardiff City fans will be worried by the news that the Bluebirds players have not been paid their wages on time with the payments due today not yet having arrives.

Our financial struggles are old news and we are well and truly skint. If it weren’t for the investment from Dato Chan Tien Ghee and his Malaysian consortium – there is little doubt the club would be in administration.

I have been assured that TG has indeed pledged to pay the wages – and the money is somewhere in cyberspace as we speak. The funds will then be allocated to the players later this week. Dave Jones spoke to the players to inform them of the delay and it is hoped that there will be no significant effect on the Bluebirds especially as we prepare for 2 games this week – both at home against teams occupying play-off positions – Leicester City and Swansea City.

With all the first team squad members on a weekly wage of between £1000-140000 per week – a delay of just a few days should not have a detrimental impact on their finances. However, it is inconvenient and bound to put doubts in the players minds also. Hopefully, TG will once again come through and this can be sorted immediately with no effect on the pitch.
