The Cardiff City players have been paid, a little later than it should have been, but nevertheless good news – especially ahead of tonights crunch clash with Leicester City – we certainly wouldn’t want to go into the clash with that frustration and uncertainty over our heads.

The CCFC players were understandable frustrated that their wages were not paid on time, with many with young families and mortgage payments set to be withdrawn.

The Bluebirds management became aware of the situation late last week when it became apparent that there would not be sufficient funds to cover the wages. Malaysian board member TG advanced the funds to cover a significant portion of the wage bill, but the money was held up in international clearance.

The remainder of the bill was footed by Steve Borley (and his fellow directors)who once again came to the fore when the club needed him. No-one should under-estimate the importance of Mr Borley in the past, present and future of this club – without him, the Malaysians would be a distant memory.

Whether this was a genuine short term cashflow blip remains to be seen. It could well be a ruse to further discredit Peter Ridsdale – despite his protestations that this was somehow everyone elses fault and completely budgetted for!

Restbite from off-field problems comes tonight against play-off rivals Leicester City.100% focus and commitment needed on the pitch, and from the Bluebirds supporters.
