Peter Enckelman 8

Enckelman put in one of his most impressive performances to date with a few smart saves, dominant collections and some much improved kicking.


Mark Kennedy 6

Solid at the back but very little going forward. Kept his side under control and can be satisfied.


Kevin McNaughton 7

Popped up everywhere to stall Arsenal attacks and kept Nasri quiet effectively. Some wayward passing let him down but Kev was one of few who really kept up with the pace of Arsenal right to the end.


Roger Johnson 8

So impressive in the air and on the ground, a real rock for City time and time again beating the lanky Bentner and clearing his lines. Excellent performance but unfortunately for us, we won;t be the only ones to notice.


Gabor Gyepes 8

Strength, power and precision over 90 minutes as the Arsenal attack was largely blunted. In the air he was brilliant, getting real distance on clearances whilst on the ground he was so quick to read the Gunners balls into feet and cut out many with minimum fuss.


Paul Parry 6

Slightly disappointing from Parry who was passed by for much of the game. He missed one great chance and rarely found space to run. He did his defensive work well and made one excellent clearing header.


Chris Burke 6

A bright start gave way to long periods without involvement. He helped out in defence but made little impression going forward. Seemed to have the beating of Gibbs early on but delivered little.


Gavin Rae 7

Matched Arsenal until Diaby entered the fray – Rae popped up everywhere and did his job well. Lacked confidence to shoot when well positioned but an effective performance.


Joe Ledley 7

Had added a new muscular dimension to his game and bossed Ramsey off the park. Although forced to sit deep later on, Ledley showed some class touches and was at the heart of our creativity.


Jay Bothroyd 7

Superb in the air, Bothroyd was involved everytime we looked dangerous. His work-rate was not always top notch but he did work hard and was frustrated to have to come so deep in search of the ball.


Ross McCormack 7

Didn’t stop running all afternoon and worried Arsenal at times. Was given no space second half but tried everything he new and nearly scored the winner with a wicked free-kick.



Substitutes:

Tony Capaldi

Good to see him back and he looked fitter and faster than last season. Used in midfield, but only got to defend.


Eddie Johnson

It only takes one touch to win a game, Eddie had one touch but it went for a throw-in.
