Cardiff City have completed their first move of the transfer window after announcing the acquisition of big Jon Parkin from Preston North End.

The ‘Beast’ joins of a two and a hlaf year deal to add competition for places and the much needed target man alternative to Jay Bothroyd. The fee will remain undisclosed but is thought to be around the £100k mark, a reduced figure as Parkin’s contract was due to end during the summer. As such PNE decided to cash in on him.

Parkin will go straight into the squad to face Leeds United on Tuesday subject to FA approval and International clearance from the FAW.
