Cardiff City Appeal McPhail’s Dismissal

Cardiff City have lodged an appeal against the red card handed to midfielder Stephen McPhail last night after he was sent off during the second half at Reading.

It was bad luck for McPhail whose season last year was seriously curtailed by two soft dismissals against Swansea City. He was devastasted to receive his marching orders for a fairly inocuous looking challenge last night on his re-call to the starting XI.

While McPhail started last night, he is no longer a crucial member of the starting line-up and the appeal will be a huge boost to him – with a 3 match ban certain to see him slide once again down Jones’ plans.

The Bluebirds have had mixed luck with appeals to the FAW and are considering a change to fall under FA jurisdiction.
