Cardiff City has benefitted in recent years from a host of homegrown talent emerging from the ranks and improving the quality of the squad without the need for big transfer fees.

However, two of the men responsible for overseeing the deveopment of the club’s young starts, have left the club. Paul Compton and Lee Robinson were both important figures and leave large gaps to be filled by the club.

The reasons for these sudden departures are unknown, Cardiff City Chairman Peter Ridsdale confirmed to the Echo:

“Both Paul and Lee have left the club and we are actively looking to fill those roles.”

In recent years, the likes of Joe Ledley, Cameron Jerome, Chris Gunter, Darcy Blake and Aaron Ramsey have emerged from the youth ranks at Cardiff City.
