Cardiff City went down 3-2 in a topsy-turvy gmae, full of incident but lacking in quality at Ninian Park this evening as Wolves took all three points.
Wolves started the brighter side, looking more lively and composed. Andy Keogh and Darren Purse both missed half chances but it was Cardiff City who had the first clear chance. Hasselbaink played a lovely dummy and Fowler broke free, but he scuffed his shot wide when one on one.
The visitors took the lead when a ricochet fell to Keogh who steered the ball across for Kightly to tap home with a simple finish.
Cardiff City equalised through a Robbie Fowler penalty after Ledley was scythed down in the area. Soon afterwards it was 2-1 to the Bluebirds, Paul Parry went on a mazy run and Fowler’s touch was smacked low by Hasselbaink for the second.
The second half saw Wolves enjoying plenty of possession but failing to creat any clear chances. The equaliser came midway through the second half when a long ball found Kightly on the right and he strode into the area withstanding a challenge to slot home.
A set-piece found Wolves captain Craddock un-challenged in the centre of the area and he powered home to give Wolves the lead.
Steve Thompson saw a shot well saved by Hennessey, while the Welsh keeper also saved from a Parry free-kick as City looked to salvage something from the game but it wasnt to be and the bluebirds are left to ponder yet another home mess that could have turned out so differently.
