Cardiff City manager Dave Jones was grateful for the little bit of luck that has abandoned us for much of the season, speaking after his side held out under pressure, to beat Blackpool. He told BBC Sport:

‘Sometimes you’ve got to go to places and dig deep and we scored a great goal and had to defend.’

‘We could have made life easier for ourselves, Jimmy had two good chances but sometimes you’ve got to win a football match ugly.’

‘We’ve been on many receiving ends of that when we’ve played and pummelled the box and not got anything for it so we’ve earned that little bit of luck tonight.’

Blackpool boss Simon Grayson was understandably disappointed and bemoaned his side’s lack of luck and ruthless streak:

‘The lads are disappointed but they played well and didn’t quite get the breaks in the box again.’

‘I thought we started the game ever so well against a very good Cardiff team with some good players.’
