Cardiff City manager Dave Jones bemoaned Norwich’s ability to shut down Cardiff’s passing game and believed his team deserved a point from the encounter, Jones told BBC Sport:

‘It looked a 1-1 game, it took us half an hour to get going and we got ourselves back into it.’

‘It was frustrating because we wanted to play free flowing football but they were not going to allow that but they worked really hard and are a good team.’

‘Two well balanced teams looked like they’d cancelled each other out. Unfortunately for us they are the ones that have come away with the victory.’

Norwich City manager Glenn Roeder paid tribute to his heroic goalscorer Ched Evans after a truly remarkable late strike won all three points for his Canaries:

‘We would have settled for a point here. When the ball came to Ched I wanted him to take the ball into the corner but he decided to put it in the back of the net!’

‘It was one of the best goals I have seen in years and it was no fluke.’
