Cardiff City striker says he`s delighted to be with the England squad after his form in the Championship earned him his first ever call up.

The 28-year old has netted 15 times already for the Bluebirds` this season, including a run of scoring in his last six games, to leave the team at the top of the Championship table and with a place in Fabio Capello`s squad for the friendly against France.

Bothroyd becomes the first Championship player since David Nugent in 2007 to be called in to the England squad, and the former Blackburn striker will hope to repeat Nugent`s achievement, by scoring.

The former Perugia striker admits he`s spoken to Fabio Capello over his time in Italy and hopes he`ll get his chance in the clash at Wembley on Wedneday night.
