Cardiff City manager Dave Jones was content with the point but disappointed by the performance shown by his players in the 1-1 draw away to Blackpool. He told BBC Sport:

‘We looked a little bit tired, a bit jaded, a long coach journey with the same team, we’re playing players who have been ill.’

‘It wasn’t the best we’ve played but to come away with a point is hard-earned.’

‘We’ve dug deep, the keeper has made a couple of good saves near the end but, having said that, we should have… had a few more goals.’

Blackpool manager Ian Holloway was delighted with his side and felt the Seasiders had done enough to win all three points:

‘I think we played very well against a side tipped for the top. I have shown the lads how we must get forward and it is lovely to see your great big defender curling a goal in like that.’

‘We deserved three points today but so far we have only got two points from two games and that means one thing – points lost.’
