Cardiff City’s returning goalscorer Ross McCormack has suffered an aggrevation of the hamstring injury sustained in the 2-1 defeat at Wolves.

The striker has progressed well, and was running fine in training after returning sooner than expected. He returned to full training but suffered the further blow yesterday during ball work when he felt the same hamstring tighten.

It is not a serious injury but a minor setback and he is now highly unlikely to make his comback against Crystal Palace tomorrow so Chopra and Eddie Johnson will continue in attack.

McCormack’s setback comes as he won a recall to the Scotland squad for their game next week. It was unlikely that he would feature anyway but he may now not travel and will instead remain under the close watch of the Cardiff City physio.

Terrible news at first glance – but as you state – he might not travel with the Scotish team.. meaning another week or two to rest up for the run-up towards Xmas. Might not be so bad, afterall.

you’re right hamstrings are dodgy – worst thing would be to play him too early!

he came back well to early for a hamstring injury and the tightening shows it!
i wish he’d just waited anyway to save perhaps being out longer than needed!
