A bright first half saw Cardiff City manager Dave Jones sent to the stands following an altertacation with referee Phil Dowd after Joe Ledley was clattered in the box – no penalty was given.
Parry’s cross in the second half saw Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink direct a near post header into the net but a period of sustained pressure – their first real pressure – saw Brian Howard equalise with a rare headed goal to gain a share of the points.
