Newcastle United striker Shola Ameobi was recently awarded the player of the month award for the Championship ahead of his former team-mate Michael Chopra despite Ameobi netting a paltry 4 times compared to Chopra’s 7 !
Both have scored an early hat-trick and both are sure to give defenders nightmares at this level. However Chops has failed to score in just one league game so far and is way ahead of the rest in the goalscoring chart.
The two hot-shot strikers were due to come head-to-head at the Cardiff City stadium tomorrow, but Ameobi has been sent for an operation on his foot and will be out for several weeks.
Chopra will be fired up to face his hometown and former club and would love a goal to show the Magpies what they’re missing.
