Cardiff City face one of their shortest away trips Tuesday night when they visit the Hawthorns to take on West Bromwich Albion.

The Baggies look well set for a big promotion push, with ex-Cardiff loan star Jason Koumas playing particularly well for the West Midlands Club. WBA currently sit in 3rd place in the Championship, unbeaten in 6 and having won 5 of those. They are enjoying a cup run too of late and face a replay against Premiership side Middlesborough.

Tony Mowbray’s men are an excellent outfit and added Cardiff target Robert Koren to their ranks in January. Koren and Koumas both possess huge talent and form a potent creative force in midfield while in Diomansy Kamara, they possess one of the best strikers in the division. Kamara has 18 league goals so far this season, and is close on the heels of current division leader Michael Chopra.

Cardiff City themselves are on a decent run of form, but despite a gutsy win over Leeds, slipped outside the play-off pack on Saturday. They are unbeaten in 5, with 4 of those being wins. Chopra has been in trmendous form, netting 7 in those 5 games but the striker will be suspended for the Midlands trip after picking up a red card after two dubious decisions on Saturday.

The two sides fought out a 1-1 draw early in the season after Riccy Scimeca cancelled out an early header by Zoltan Gera.

Both sides are in good form of late and both prefer to play good open football. Cardiff are without several key players and West Brom will fancy their chances for a home win.

VitalCardiff prediction: West Brom 2-0 Cardiff
