Cardiff City’s talented young midfielder Joe Ledley played a large part in Wales’ 0-0 draw with Czech Republic in today’s Euro 2008 qualifier.

Ledley lined up at left wing-back, and looked comfortable having spent time this season at left back and winger for Cardiff City this season.

Hi manager John Toshack declared that Ledley could be ‘well pleased’ with his performance

Former Cardiff players Jason Koumas, Danny Gabbidon and James Collins also started the game, while Robert Earnshaw appeared from the bench.

The game will be remembered as Ryan Giggs’ final Wales appearnace after the Manchester Utd winger retired from International football. He looked dangerous but it was a Koumas free-kick that came closest to breaking the deadlock for Wales.

It was a decent result for Wales against the Czech’s including the likes of Rosicky (Arsenal), Baros, Koller and Chelsea’s Petr Cech. However the result looks to have ended Wales’ chance of qualifying with the Czech’s and Germany too far ahead and Ireland and Slovakia better placed than Toshack’s men.
