Cardiff City’s young goalkeeper Erwin Sak is set for a rare appearance in the first team squad and will surely take up a place amongst the City substitutes for our biggest game of the season to date.

Sak turned 19 yesterday and is yet to feature in competitive football for the Bluebirds since joining 1 year ago on a free transfer from Sokol in Poland. Michael Oakes and Peter Enckelman were ahead of him last season before Tom Heaton arrived on loan from Manchester United confining Sak to regular reserve team football.

Unfortunately for him, this substitute appearance is not the start of bigger things as despite an injury lay-off to Enckelman for the next two months, Cardiff City have moved to bring in Dimitrios Konstantopoulos on loan from Coventry City. He and Tom Heaton will comptete for the number 1 shirt in Enck’s absence. Dimi is unavailable for the Arsenal trip having represented Swansea City in their win against struggling Porstmouth.

Erwin is unlikely to feature tonight, but will surely gain from the experience and a trip to the Emirates for an FA Cup clash isn’t a bad way to spend your time!
