Cardiff City will see the return to management of former Manchester United hero Roy Keane as he begins his tenure at Ipswich Town on Saturday in the last ever league game scheduled at Ninian Park – of course, we look almost certain to end up in the play-offs meaning a further game at the old ground.

The Tractor Boys sacked Jim Magilton this week, after failing to reach the play-offs and moved swiftly to bring in Roy Keane for the last 2 games of the season. He will use the remaining couple of weeks to assess his inherited squad before compiling his retained list and identifying transfer targets.

Keane is a fiery customer and will no doubt be whipping his new charges up, he`s not the kind of guy who accepts end-of-season relaxation and with the entire squad playing for contracts – Ipswich Town will be no walkover. He left his post at Sunderland earlier this season with the Black Cats sitting perilously in the drop zone despite spending big.

Cardiff City need 1 more point to be assured of the play-offs, it would be preferable not to rely on an away fixture at Sheffield Wednesday to get that point so Saturday`s game is a massive occasion for our season, our history and now for Ipswich Town under their new manager who many hope will restore the East Anglian outfit to the Premier League.
