Skipper Darren Purse has aired his disappointment regarding the low attendances at Ninian Park this season. Even though we currently occupy our highest league position in 22 years, we?re struggling to meet the break-even figure of 13,000 fans per game. At present, our attendances average a poor 11,478.

Purse said on the clubs official website: ?The crowds have been disappointing. When I first came to the club, I thought we would be having crowds of 15-16 thousand at our games – the Leeds game shows that these people are out there. Playing in front of 9-10 thousand people is disappointing, but we have to do our bit and hopefully the fans will come out in their droves against Brighton on Tuesday.?

The troubles at Ninian Park last season hit a lot of fans for six. It?s unfortunate that, now playing good football under a new manager, some fans are instead choosing to watch Premiership football on TV whilst sat in their armchair. With a perfectly good football club on their doorstep, maybe these fans should be sat in a psychiatrist?s chair – or better still, standing on the Grange End making some noise!
