Crystal Palace defender Claude Davis has been found guilty of violent conduct after elbowing Cardiff City’s Roger Johnson in an ugly incident at Selhurst Park last week.

Despite pleading not guilty, and his manager and chairman making some peculiar comments in his defence – the FA decided to press charges against Davis and he was subsequently found guilty.

Cardiff City were upset with the challenge at the time, and disappointed that neither Palace nor the player contacted the Bluebirds or Roger Johnson.

Davis will be banned for three games and will not play again this season.
