Cardiff City full-back Kevin McNaughton is nearing a return for the Bluebirds after being out for the entire season to date with ankle legament damage.

McNaughton limped out of a pre-season friendly and early estimates of a 4 week layoff proved optimistic. Super Kev is a key player for us and adds effort, determination and tenascity at all times – something we are occasionally lacking. His solid presence at the back allows more freedom to the likes of Burke, Ledley or Whittingham and his added pace allows him to adeptly cover the centre-backs.

McNaughton is likely to play at left-back this season, competing with Kennedy and Capaldi for the shirt while Matthews and Quinn contest the right-back berth.

The lastest news on McNaughton is that he is now back in full training and looking to make a comeback in 2 weeks time when Crystal Palace visit the CCS.
