Cardiff City`s top scorer Ross McCormack will retain his penalty taking duties despite missing his second of the season in Saturday`s bizarre 6-0 drubbing at Preston. At the time we were unfortunate to be 2-0 down and were handed a lifeline just seconds before half-time. However, Andy Lonergan saved McCormack`s effort and we know what happened next.

That was the second penalty miss of the season for McCormack in a campaign where we have been awarded a great many spot-kicks. McCormack`s miss made it 10 from 12 attempts this season which is a decent record of 83% success. Dave Jones has confirmed Rosco keeps his status as penalty-taker if on the field.

Michael Chopra would have been hoping to profit should McCormack be removed from duty or not want to take the next one – he has already netted three times from the spot, missing once.

McCormack`s miss changed the game on Saturday, and had he scored it would have been an entirely different game. However, Cardiff City fans will be pleased that just a couple of weeks ago McCormack won and converted a 90th minute spot-kick against Swansea City. If you had the choice as to which one was scored?.what would you prefer?!?
