Cardiff City could be given a huge boost tonight with the welcome return of top scorer Ross McCormack and strike partner Jay Bothroyd after both missed several games with hamstring injuries.

McCormack is the more likely to return but may be utilised in a new position by Dave Jones who needs to fill yet ANOTHER wide position with Paul Parry likely to miss out through injury. That means McCormack could slot in on the left of City’s midfield, a position he could be well suited to with his hunger for possession, comfort on the ball and previously shown danger cutting in and shooting.

Bothroyd is slightly less likely to start but has progressed well and may well be called upon by Jones to partner Chopra up-front. I have no doubt that those two could develop an excellent partnership and complement each other well. Bothroyd or Eddie Johnson will play depending on the former Wolves man’s fitness.

Jones has already pledged to make changes to an injury-ravaged team, the return of our two most potent strikers can only be a good thing – though lacking slightly in match fitness – they have been out just a couple of weeks and should be sharp.
