Glenn Loovens has recovered from the severe cramp he suffered in both legs during the loss to Colchester. He was replaced by Roger Johnson midway through the second half at Layer Road and appeared in considerable discomfort.

It was released after the game that Loovens had suffered severe cramp in both legs simultaneously but it was thought that no further treatment was required.

Loovens had only just recoved in time from a nasty eye injury sustained during a clash with Steve Howard during the 2-2 Ninian Park draw with Derby County where large swelling around his eye socket inhibited his vision and prompted fears of a chipped bone.

Thankfully Glenn is fully fit and ready to take his place in the centre of defence for the visit of high-flying Burnley on Saturday. Loovens has always played when fit and available and has kept the impressive Roger Johnson firmly on the substitutes bench. Loovens has been excellent aerially and on the ground this season and a real rock in the heart of the Bluebirds’ defense.

Steve Thompson (Achilles)and Kerrea Gilbert (Shoulder) are both unavailable.
