Cardiff City are struggling with injuries at present and their already small squad was recently weakened by the loan departures of Warren feeney and Tony Capaldi.

Joe Ledley is the latest player to be ruled out after aggrevating a long standing hip complaint during Saturday’s 1-0 win over Preston. He needs an operation but has been playing through the pain of late, he didnt travel with the rest of the squad last night and failed a fitness test back in South Wales this morning. His place will be taken by Ross McCormack or Gavin Rae.

Ledley joins Steve McPhail (thigh/lymphoma)and Miguel Comminges (thigh) on the treatment table while Michael Chopra (illness) and Anthony Gerrard (bruising) were both in the wars over the weekend. Jay Bothroyd is another notable absence having collected 5 yellow cards and a 1 match ban.

Add to that the lack of gametime for Riccy Scimeca and Kevin McNaughton – both returning from injury, and Paul Quinn (recently recalled) and tonight is not the best time to play high flying West Brom!
