Cardiff City’s versatile defender Miguel comminges will miss the entire pre-season tour in Portugal after his International duty was extended.

Comminges has been in American competing in the GHold Cup and his country Guadeloupe have reached the quarter-finals – meaning he will not now link up with his Bluebirds’ team-mates in Portugal.

Comminges played at left and right back last season but his most impressive performances were seen during last season’s pre-season when he operated as a right sided midfield player. With the arrival of Paul Quinn, and the emergence of Adam Matthews – Comminges looks set to be a squad player at best this year and would surely be allowed to leave if any bid came in.

The former Swindon Town player will return after the tournament and join training back at home.
