Cardiff City travel to face Coventry City tonight with both sides looking to end the evening in the play-off positions.
The Bluebirds have further problems to add to their injury list despite the welcome return to fitness of Peter Whittingham (groin) and Stephen McPhail (ribs). Unfortunately for City, Kevin McNaughton (thigh) picked up an injury and joins fellow defender Gabor Gyepes (back) in a late fitness test. For Jones’ options should those miss out, click HERE.
Mark Hudson (ankle), Joe Ledley (hip), Josh Magennis (broken leg) and Kelvin Etuhu (ankle)remain long term absentees, while Michael Chopra serves the second game of his two match suspension for collecting 10 yellow cards.
Warren Feeney, Gavin Rae and Aaron Wildig are vying for a call-up but may be resigned to bench duty.
Coventry City are in excellent form and have been bossted this week by the return from suspension of defender Leon Barnett, who could replace James McPake.
Richard Wood (hip) and David Bell (knee) have also recovered from their respective injuries and are hoping for inclusion in Chris Coleman’s squad after returning on Saturday.
Former Cardiff City target Sammy Clingan is a doubt for the Sky Blues, however his calf complaint is expected to clear up in time for his to play. Gary Deegan is on standby to replace him if he fails a late test or is rested.
Ben Turner, Isaac Osbourne and Jordan Clarke all remain sidelined with knee injuries and will again miss out.
Striker Freddie Eastwood will hope for a recall after being deemed ‘not good enough’ by Cardiff City manager Dave Jones. He did score against us last season, only for the referee to disallow the goal for handball almost a minute earlier on the say-so of his assistant.
