Cardiff City are reportedly poised to sign winger Craig Conway from Dundee United after the midfielder revelaed he has agreed a deal with the Bluebirds, subject to a medical.

City were originally linked with Conway back in January, and came close to a move. However, no transfer materialised and with Conway’s contract set to end – he is available on a free transfer. City’s interest could have ended after Dave Jones’ departure as boss – but new manager Malky mackay had already approached Conway regarding a potential move to Watford.

Conway is a lively player, capable of creating and scoring goals. His decision to join the Bluebirds represents somewhat of a coup with Glasgow Rangers showing a strong interest in him. Conway however, has opted for more regular football in the Championship, rather than struggle for opportunities in a large Rangers squad. A number of other Championship clubs were reportedly interested including Leicester city and leeds United.

Conway can play on either flank, but is more at home on the left while he also has 2 Scotland caps. Although a deal has been agreed, the signing has not been completed yet and the club will make no official announcement until the medical is completed, and contract signed.
